A Wedding Reshoot

After discovering that their wedding photos were far from what they had dreamt of, Jaime  and Will decided to have a wedding reshoot.

As a wedding photographer myself, I was keen on trusting our wedding photographer to get the shots we wanted without interfering with their creative process. Unfortunately, my heart sank when I saw our final collection of images. The general lack of styling, absence of close-up shots, and failure to competently direct the shoot were all things I'd missed on the day of our wedding due to the utter elation I was experiencing, but wishes my husband and I could go back and do over! Some time after our wedding, Will and I decided to plan a reshoot, and when I met Erich McVey at Jose Villa's Mexico photography workshop last fall, I was confident that he'd be able to style and produce a gorgeous collection. Erich and his wife Amy were open to collaborating, proved to execute beautiful styling, and produced a truly wonderful collection that exceeded our expectations! We not only shot in our wedding attire, but slipped into our regular clothes for a more relaxed, non-wedding feel which we loved. Will and I can't thank Erich and Amy enough for their friendship and beautiful work.

From the impeccable styling (that shrug!) to the warmth and softness captured in these images, Erich and Amy truly did an amazing job of creating photographs that this sweet couple will be able to cherish forever.

  2. How fitting to find this posted on our 3rd anniversary! I woke up this morning and saw Amy McVey's link to this post and was so excited...what a lovely accidental gift. And the shrug/wrap was a piece I bought in Russia when I was 16 (a trip which led me to meet Will in Mississippi 8 years later, but that's a long story!). I've wanted to use that wrap, with that dress, in that specific corner of the mission for a long time and Erich got the shot just as I'd envisioned...not to mention a whole lot more! Ladies, if you didn't like how you or your photos looked on your wedding day, I'd HIGHLY recommend a reshoot!
